Wishing you a Happy Christmas and a Safe, Healthy and Happy New Year…As we come towards the close of 2021, few of us can look back on the year without reflecting that, like 2020, it has placed significant strain on individuals, families, and care organisations. The mental and physical health of many has suffered as, once again, we have been separated from loved ones, and lives have been disrupted. As we enter the Christmas holidays, we are facing yet another new challenge from the pandemic, which inevitably makes us all apprehensive for the start of 2022.However, I sincerely believe that our professionalism, tenacity, and resilience will see us through to better times. Over the last twelve months I have been humbled by the dedication and commitment of staff across our company. Working under hugely difficult circumstances, and often under government restrictions, has left many of our staff exhausted from the efforts they have made, and yet they keep going – demonstrating, time and again, that they are determined to continue to deliver great care and support to those who need it most. The spirit of community that I have seen in so many of our homes has been uplifting. It is to them I would like to give special thanks and hope that they can find time over Christmas to be with family and enjoy the closeness of loved ones and friends. In turn this makes me reflect on what we all owe to the families of both staff and the people we care for. They have been fantastic in 2021, once again showing us appreciation, generosity, and patience, in many acts of kindness and thoughtfulness. We need them to help us through these difficult times, and so I would like to say a big thank you for another year of wonderful support. This has greatly helped us to continue to deliver great care. Finally, I would like to commit on behalf of all of us who work in our homes and our school, to continuing to do our very best for your loved ones, as well as looking after ourselves. No doubt there will be continued hurdles to overcome in 2022, but I am sure that as a caring community of staff, residents, pupils, teachers, families, and friends, we will overcome them. I hope you have the very best Christmas possible and stay safe and healthy into what we all hope will be a happy New Year.
