Lindum Park House
Lindum Park House is a home providing care for service users who have mental health disorders and/or mild learning disabilities.
Our residents can range in age from eighteen upwards, and we have helped some as old as their mid 70’s They can come to us because of a wide range of conditions including drug related issues, personality disorders, schizophrenia, or a bipolar condition. Regardless of the reason, all our residents need support to enable them to live the lives they want to. We give this support with both compassion and empathy, helping people to achieve their individual goals and ambitions. In doing this we treat all our residents with the dignity and respect they have a right to expect.
Lindum Park House is a fine Georgian property set in the heart of Lincoln, giving our residents access to all the amenities that the busy town centre provides. We have seventeen bedrooms – two ensuite – and the house has a homely rather than institutional feel. The home has a variety of good sized communal areas as well as a private garden area for service users to enjoy at their leisure. As well as providing quality facilities the home also has a varied activity programme driven by the choices and preferences of the residents themselves.
The bustling community atmosphere within the home reflects our positive ethos of social integration, independence, enablement and the development of new life skills. This community can be a long-term choice for some of our residents or it can be seen as a staging post leading to greater independence, offering a rehabilitation care package with life skills support. Ultimately, we encourage all our residents to aspire to independent living within the community.
We offer a warm welcome to families and friends and encourage their interaction by having an open house policy at all times. Part of assisting rehabilitation is supporting and enabling the normalisation of relationships outside of those that our service users develop within the home.
We do not achieve good outcomes in isolation. Our support structure is underpinned by a programme of continuous staff training and development, which enables us to provide high quality person centred care packages, tailored to the differing needs of every individual in our care. To further strengthen our service we have developed strong links with the local Community Mental Health Team and other external services, working with these various organisations to maximise the health and wellbeing of our residents.
Lindum Park House is a scarce resource in Lincoln and offers those who have or are struggling to cope with everyday life, the opportunity to experience understanding, an empathetic and
non-judgemental environment, and develop towards independence through taking advantage of the support and advice that we provide.
