Between December the 2nd and 8th this year National Grief Awareness Week will aim to raise awareness of all aspects of grief and loss on a national scale. As part of this nationwide effort to help people find support no matter what the source of their grief The Valleys will be supporting The Good Grief Trust by holding one of its Pop Up Cafes in the home. The exact date has yet to be fixed, but we will announce it soon.
The purpose of the Good Grief Pop Up Café is to offer an umbrella of support in local communities and raise awareness of the Trust’s online database which unites bereavement services across the country. The Trust provides both the bereaved and bereavement specialists, a way to connect with their local communities and by sharing stories, can hopefully help each other find a way forward.
We hope to be able to attract a large number of people to our Pop UP Cafe and will be liaising with the Trust for its organisation. If you have been bereaved, no matter how long ago, and are still finding it difficult then the Cafe event may well offer you a chance to meet people who might be going through something similar or perhaps others who can lend support and advice.
We hope to make the event something the home can be proud of and more importantly that helps people in need. If it proves successful it is something that we could had on a regular basis during the year, to provide on going support.
Watch this space for details and we hope as many as possible will come along.
